Hello STRANGER !

We've got some great opportunities and shout outs below. Enjoy!

SHOW UP & WRITE launches soon!

The first session starts this Sunday and every Sunday in April. JOIN US!

IN PERSON: Attend sessions at Theatro Technis (26 Crowndale Rd, NW1 1TT).

We are capping the in-person sessions to 12 writers based on the space provided.

ONLINE: Check in at the top of the session with a wave at 1pm. Microphones off for the 3-hour writing period though we encourage you to keep your camera on to stay on task. Then stay after for the hour discussion. Online sessions will be capped at 15 writers.

COST: No cost! Free to join!

WHEN: Sunday, April 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th -- 1pm to 5pm

Discussions will be facilitated by MENA Arts UK Steering Group or Hyphen Artist Collective members.

We encourage you to attend all, but we understand freelance schedules don't allow that sometimes.

HOW TO APPLY: We welcome all MENA+ writers and/or writers with a “hyphenated” artist skill set or cultural background to apply. Writers of all levels and experience are welcome.

Please email HyphenArtistCollective@gmail.com sharing a bit about yourself, where you are based, what you’re working on, whether you wish to attend in-person or online Zoom sessions and specify what dates you can attend.

Have an opportunity or want us to give you a shout out? Our next newsletter will be on FRIDAY APRIL 14th. Please email member@menaarts.uk before Wednesday April 12th to be included.

Have a great weekend from us all at MENA ARTS UK

Our position on endorsements:

Our main areas of work are to help connect the creative industries with UK MENA+ talent, so we will always share castings, job opportunities, or marketing information. We will track these projects in the hope that they are a great example of how MENA+ talent is used. But by sharing this information, this should not be seen as an endorsement of the project. We will call out work that is appropriating a MENA+ narrative and does not have MENA+ talent at the heart of the creative process; and we will always champion, front and centre, work that is made for and by MENA+ talent.
