She recently wrapped on her 2nd BFI backed short as writer/director 'Bahar' with MENA+ cast. She is currently developing 'Moonset' for the Citizens Theatre and Iranian/Scottish drama 'Gonaah' with World Productions.

As an actor Maryam's recent stage credits include ‘Nora:A Doll’s House’ (The Citizens) & ‘Move/Gluassad’ (Disaster Plan) and for screen ‘The Small Hand’, ‘Wild Rose’, ‘The Last Bus’ & 'River City'.
Maryam was All3 Media scholar on the NFTS ‘Write the TV Pilot’ course and writes for CBeebies ‘Molly & Mack’. Part of the first BBC Writersroom ‘Scottish Voices’, she wrote radio pilot ‘Drivetime’ for BBC. Her pilot ‘Slipping’ was presented as a Sky table read and she wrote/directed short film ‘Bloody Love’ through SFTN. She co-wrote Amnesty Award nominated 'The Chronicles of Irania’ & had rehearsed readings for her plays ‘End of.’ (Tron), ‘The Builders’ (Tron & Theatre 503). Her PSS New Playwright’s Award script ‘Moonset’ has now been commissioned by The Citizens & optioned for screen by Blue Iris films.
